CNF is hiring a team to work onsite in San Antonio, Texas to fulfill the requirement of a System Software Engineer Mid-Level to perform database, replication, and system administration tasks as required for various development, testing, training and exercise environments involving Modernized Integrated Database (MIDB) systems and Global Command and Control Systems – Joint (GCCS-J) in support of the Contract in for the 35IS. The candidate will be based in San Antonio, TX at 35th IS, Lackland AFB, TX.
Knowledge/Experience in the following:
*Relational database administration (Sybase preferred)
*SQL experience
*Understanding of database replication
*Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Any app server (Wildfly/JBoss preferred), RHEL/CentOS/Solaris, Scripting (Bash, ksh, etc)
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
System Software Engineer Mid-Level conduct the following:
*Interface with customers to design, implement, and maintain complex, bridged Sybase replication environments to support scenarios involving cross connected versions of various weapon systems.
*Use SQL to assist with maintaining data quality across multiple versions of MIDB and GCCS-J.
*Perform all administration tasks for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE), Sybase Repserver, and Wildfly app servers for the 35IS MIDB and GCCS-J systems.
*Provide remote assistance in design, maintenance, and recovery of MIDB and GCCS-J Sybase database systems.
*Utilize your experience and knowledge of troubleshooting errors to assist application developers and testers with integrating their application solutions with our database systems.
*Design, tune, and implement load test scenarios as requested by the customer.
*Design, install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers on Nutanix hardware.
*Perform database, app server, and system administration tasks to support implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls to ensure compliance.
*Leverage experience with different technologies to assist with administration needs onDell EMC servers, NetApp storage, Nutanix AHV, Prism, Acropolis on Nutanix appliances, and other tools to deliver Enterprise Services to support the cyber security mission of 35th IS information systems (IS) and networks.
*Respond and resolve service outages, technical queries and other system related issues.
*Perform system checks (processes, services, network, storage) to ascertain overall system health.
*Update and document configuration management and troubleshoot any reported problems.
*Collaborate with the security team on system upgrades and issues.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
DOD Directive 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
BS/MS (BA/MA) with 5 yrs directly related experience
Or
MS with 2 yrs directly related experience
Accepted Degrees: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Systems, Or related BS degree
Must have an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance

(U) Intermediate IT Support Personnel – Fort Meade, MD
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will:
The IT support personnel oversees, maintains, and administers day-to-day operation of all computer networks including hardware and software and support and training for the special project’s laboratories and personnel. They diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components. They provide the first level of computer and network support to the entire team to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in the following degrees or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
*Engineering
*Computer Science
*Information Systems
Five (5) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Four (4) years of additional appliable experience may be substituted for a BS degree
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated experience/knowledge in the following areas:
*Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.
*Maintain and administer computer networks including computer hardware, system software, applications software, and all configurations.
*Design, configure, and test upgrades or changes to computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
*Train personnel in computer system use and assist with problem resolution.
*Recommend changes to improve systems, network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
*Gather data pertaining to user needs and problems and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
*Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
*Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel to facilitation purchases.
*Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
