SAN ANTONIO 12 April 2018 – CNF Technologies is pleased to announce the award of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Agile Cyber Technology 2 (ACT 2) contract, a multiple-award Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract servicing Cybersecurity customers across the United States Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. CNF was selected out of 22 bidders as one of the five awardees sharing the $950 million ceiling. ACT 2 is a focused, flexible rapid contracting vehicle between AFRL, its products centers, and the operational community to support rapid research, development, prototyping, demonstration, evaluation, and transition of cyber capabilities. The contract has a five-year ordering period, with task orders that can last up to five years. “ACT 2 provides a critical path for customers to access the technologies, capabilities, and intellectual capital of CNF and our teammates; we could conceivably be performing on the contract through 2028,” says CEO Roxanne Ramirez. “Pursuing and winning it was a core component of our strategic plan to extend what we do for our Air Force clients across the broader community.”
The contract solidifies CNF Technologies’ 13-year track record of excellence in cybersecurity. The company specializes in research and development, engineering, prototyping, and fielding cutting edge solutions to cyber challenges affecting national security. “One of the biggest challenges our DoD customers face is getting access to innovative technologies fast enough to make a difference,” says Chief Operating Officer, Steve Barish. “In the cyberspace domain, threats and vulnerabilities change so quickly traditional acquisition cycles of a year or more just can’t keep up. AFRL has solved that problem with ACT 2. Now, DoD and Intelligence Community customers can identify a cyber need and have CNF experts engineering solutions to the challenge underway in weeks.”
CNF Technologies is the only Texas company awarded a position on the contract. Headquartered in San Antonio, CNF draws much of its culture and DNA from Air Force Cyber (AFCYBER), the collection of organizations at Joint Base San Antonio whose mission encompasses all aspects of cybersecurity. Founded in 2005, CNF provides engineering solutions, information assurance, and operational support to AFCYBER and other DoD and Intelligence Community clients, focused heavily on cybersecurity and the disciplines that support it. CNF has been one of the fastest growing companies in San Antonio throughout its history, this year placing 17th on the San Antonio Business Journal’s FastTrack list. CEO Roxanne Ramirez has been recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the top CEOs in San Antonio in 2017. CNF has a proud history of solving some of the most challenging problems in cybersecurity that face the Air Force. Winning ACT 2 allows us to take that track record of passion, integrity, innovation, and excellence to cyber organizations throughout the DoD and Intelligence Community. It means more jobs, here in San Antonio and around the country, and most importantly it means CNF gets to continue providing innovative capabilities to solve problems that affect the security of the nation. We couldn’t be more excited, or appreciative.”
