As CNF’s first CTO, Andrew Pilato (Andy) oversees the technical and strategic aspects of cyber technologies including, the development of Independent Research and Development (IRAD) program, the identification and assessment of emerging technologies affecting client mission success and expanding CNF’s commercial business.
As a senior cybersecurity subject matter expert, Andy’s extensive career encompassed both commercial and government sectors such as NASA, NSA, DoD, the VA, financial institutions, and numerous avionic manufacturers; which is a specific area of expertise. Andy launched his career in the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Center as a Security Analyst and member of the Incident Response Team. During the Gulf Wars, Andy led a cyber security team supporting 2 Combined Air Operations Centers by conducting defensive cyber testing and mediation to prevent adversarial attacks during military operations.
In 2008, Andy was hired by CNF as Principal Engineer and was quickly promoted to Director of Engineering. Andy provided on-site technical direction and was the program manager for a multi-million-dollar government contract focused on the sustainment and development of a globally deployed, enterprise level cyber defense platform. He led a team of 21 cybersecurity professionals and engineers in the development, prototyping, integration, and testing for numerous software/hardware versions of this globally deployed cyber solution. He led the efforts involved in obtaining Air Force Net worthiness, Operational and Developmental Testing (OT/DT); and ultimately Air Force Operational Acceptance for an enterprise level defense system.
