CNF Technologies’ CEO Freddy Ramirez has been named recipient of the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriotic Employer Award. Joseph Calarrudo, Principal Software Engineer and US Air Force Reservist nominated Freddy Ramirez.
According to ESGR’s website, the Patriotic Employer Award, “recognizes individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family. The Patriotic Employer Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.”
Joseph Calarrudo stated, “CNF has gone out of its way to treat me like family, even when I’ve been mobilized. I’ve never had to worry about whether or not I have a job when I return. From big things like taking care of my family, to smaller things like birthday gifts and holiday celebrations, I appreciate so much what this company and its leaders have done for me. Thank you very much.”
During the presentation, Freddy asked for a round of applause for Calarrudo’ s direct leaders including Program Manager, Cyber Development & Integrations Jim Pruett, Director, Cyber Capability Development & Integration Lisa McMurtry, and Chief Operating Officer Aaron Grace.
“I knew when you (Calarrudo) came aboard that you were going to be deployed for some time. However, when we saw not only your talents and abilities, but your personality and how you meshed well with our culture and integrated yourself with our customer’s mission, I believed it would be imperative to support you both professionally and personally.”
ESGR designed their awards program to celebrate employers who go above and beyond to support members of the National Guard and Reserve. Since the National Guard and Reserve is composed of patriotic volunteers who may be called upon at any time, sustainability of the organization depends on the backing of employers who provide support, understanding, and job security when their employees answer the call of duty. Award recipients are nominated by an employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve and may also be nominated by their spouse.
While signing the official Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve, Ramirez stated, “Reservists continue to sacrifice their time, life experiences with family, and sometimes even their careers to protect our country. The very least we can do as business leaders is support these selfless individuals as best we can. It’s simply the right thing to do.”
This is CNF’s third time receiving an award from ESGR and the second Patriotic Employer Award. CNF also previously earned the Above and Beyond Award.
