Technical Writer

POSITION DESCRIPTION

CNF is seeking several motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writers to support our growing team. The successful candidates will gather, analyze, and compose technical information, conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology, translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel, and support the development of all types of documents and reports. You’ll be part of a cutting-edge project that will make a huge impact on the security of DOD/Intel community.

MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

The selected candidate will have the following:

*Bachelor’s (or higher) degree.
*Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility for immediate consideration.
*Excellent hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Products.
*Fluid technical writing and editing skills, including the use of AP Style and/ or government agency directed style guides.
*Ability to work with technical cyber analysts to evaluate material and break it down into concise, compelling narrative that engages the reader.
*Ability to work under pressure with engagement leads, technical analysts, and subject matter experts in a fast-paced cybersecurity environment to ensure timely product release.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

In this role you will:

*Composing technical documents including, Standard Operating procedures (SOPs), user’s manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
*Editing functional descriptions, system specifications, user’s manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
*Conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology.
*Organizing material and completing writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, conciseness, style, and terminology.
*Establishing the overall organizational layout and editorial standards of the submissions.
*Working with the PMO to develop a consistent, uniform style and language.
*Managing the schedule, assignments, and meetings associated with all narratives and submissions

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the following:

*Familiarity with cyberspace operations and software development terminology, concepts, and subject matter.
*Experience with creating technical briefings including executive leadership briefings.
*Understanding of different communication styles and formats.
*Experience working across multiple projects.
*Understanding of documentation version control.
