ICS/SCADA Engineer – Colorado Springs, CO

TS/SCI REQUIRED

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Advanced knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) to include field experience employing OT/ICS and engineering and development experience designing, developing, configuring, and testing ICS systems and devices used in critical infrastructures. Experienced evaluating the reliability, performance, and security of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and performing vulnerability analysis, researching, and developing remedies, and deploying solutions.

The ideal candidate will have the following experiences:

• Developing software using higher order languages (C, C++, Python, Java)
• Developing firmware for programmable logic controllers
• Developing solutions employing data communications and automation protocols (ZigBee, ModBus, M-Bus, IEC 62056, IEC 61107, and ANSI C12.xx)
• Performing cyber threat analysis to ICS/SCADA and vulnerability analysis
• Virtualizing critical infrastructure environments and components model actual environments
• Operational experience with OT/ICS in the power, water, energy, transportation, manufacturing, or other critical infrastructures

The successful candidate must be:

• Capable to establish, plan, and accomplish team and individual goals
• Effective working in a laboratory environment using physical and virtual devices and network architectures in order to research, develop, and test solutions.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

The selected candidate will support our customer in a collaborative laboratory environment to identify threats to programmable logic, OT/ICS systems, and critical infrastructures. The candidate support development of physical and virtual test ranges and collaborate with mission partners and commercial/utility partners with aim to protect critical infrastructures. To this end, the candidate will perform tasks that include:

• Support the customer organization mission and the objectives of the technical director
• Discover and investigate cybersecurity threats to critical infrastructure
• Research and develop solutions to discovered vulnerabilities
• Deploy physical and virtual solutions to appropriate test ranges
• Perform testing, collection, and results analysis
• Document and report test approach, plan, and results
• Support mission partner development, configuration, and testing
• Upon request, collaborate with partner ranges and travel as necessary
• Integrate range capabilities to offer more realistic test and evaluation environments
• Perform directed research and prototyping
• Document assumptions, findings, and recommendations of research and prototype evaluation

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Required – Bachelor of Science Degree in one of the following majors: Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering with ICS/SCADA or robotics specialization. Other STEM degree with relevant experience will be considered. Master of Science Degree preferred

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires a current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

LOCATION:

Colorado – Colorado Springs, at customer site & CNF site, partial hybrid (customer defined)

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

This role may require limited travel up to 25% of total time.
