Principal Test Engineer – San Antonio, TX

MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

System Engineer or Test Engineer with Testing background will conduct engineering, integration, testing, assessments and/or transition activities for the Open Component Portability Infrastructure (OpenCPI) Product; an open-source software (OSS) framework for developing and executing component-based applications on heterogeneous embedded systems.

Sample test-related deliverables will be test plans, test reports, test procedures, defect reports, etc.  The candidate will represent the Testing Discipline in Customer Design Reviews and at all Customer Sell-off Reviews and Events.

Experience / knowledge with or interest in developing skills in the following areas are preferred:

*Working in an Agile development / DevOps environment.

*Affective Technical Writing and Presentation skills.

*Hands-on experience with hardware, networks, and test equipment.

*Experience in the RF domain or employment of SDRs.

*Knowledge of cyber capabilities.

*Motivating and encouraging Users to embrace the Product.

*Seeing the “Big-picture”; understanding how the little piece make the big machine work.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

*Conducting functional testing, at the System-level, for the OpenCPI Product, serving as the Product Test Manager.

*Developing and maintaining a systematic Regression Test Plan / Process.

*Leading the development of the product’s Automated Testing framework.

*Guiding the refinement of Unit-level testing methodology.

*Serving as the Product trainer, demonstrator, advocate, and User liaison (Supporting partners and users with product integration) – Affectively serve as the User SME.

PREFERRED PROFICIENCIES:

*Requirement Traceability Management Tools, such as Rational DOORS, Jira, GITLAB (OSRMT), etc.

*Code Repository Management Tools:  Rational ClearCase, GITLAB, Bitbucket, etc.

*Automated Test Tools:  Bamboo, Eggplant, Selenium, Rational Functional Tester, Cucumber, etc.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BS/MS in one of the Accepted Degrees plus 12 yrs. directly related experiences (10 yrs. with MS degree).  At least 6 yrs. progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.  In lieu of a degree; 15 yrs. of directly related experience.
