Senior Joint Exercise Planner – Fort Carson, CO

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

CNF Technologies is searching for a Senior Joint Exercise Planner with over 5 years’ experience to support United States Cyber Command and the Joint Electric Power Range. The Joint Electric Power Range is the Nation’s preeminent full-spectrum electrical power research, development, testing, and training environment to prepare the Joint Force for the defense of national critical infrastructure and key resources. This role will play a critical role in developing, coordinating, and executing multinational, Combatant Command, Service-Component level, and tactical field training exercises at the JEPR. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

As a Senior Joint Exercise Planner, you will support and assist Sponsors with the design, planning, coordination, preparations, execution, and evaluation of Joint, Combined, Service, and Interagency training exercises with the purpose of rehearsing plan-based tasks and training operational elements. To this end, you will perform tasks that include:
• Provide strategic and operational advice, technical guidance, and exercise planning expertise to Sponsor’s and CNF’s program management and operational team members across the life cycle of Range events
• Attend and support Sponsor’s event planning conferences, including domestic and/or international travel as directed
• Coordinate Range utilization requests with event sponsors; synchronize and integrate Range requests with JEPR management via the monthly schedule review
• Provide detailed analysis, evaluations, and recommendations for Range technical and operational support requirements and feasibility
• Document Range event planning and execution activities in accordance with Sponsor’s requirements, and provide records in specified knowledge management system(s)
• Support Range event after-action reviews, process improvement reviews, and other developmental activities as directed
• Provide detailed analysis, evaluations, and recommendations for Range improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance efforts for client-specific or general mission purposes as required

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following areas:

• Experience serving on a Combatant Command, a Service Major Command or higher, or the Joint Staff
• Experience serving within US Cyber Command and/or its Service components or the Cyber Mission Force
• Experience working in military operations, plans, training, and/or exercises
• Experience working in military range planning, military range and resource scheduling
• Expert knowledge of the Joint Planning Process (JPP), Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), and the Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) system
• Expert knowledge of military command structures, missions, programs, and organizational relationships
• Expert knowledge of the Joint Training System and proficiency using associated processes and knowledge management systems
• Working knowledge of US Cyberspace operations, training and exercise functions
• Basic knowledge of US Critical Infrastructures and related Information Technology, Operational Technology networks, Industrial Control Systems, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems

REQUIREMENTS:

• Security Clearance: Current Top Secret with SCI and SAP eligibility
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; completion of Joint Professional Military Education (minimum Phase I, Officer or Enlisted) highly desired
• Experience / Knowledge: Applicant may possess five years of experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities as a substitute for a college degree
• Location: Colorado Springs, CO at customer site (Fort Carson) & CNF site, partial hybrid schedule (Sponsor and supervisor defined)
• Travel: This role may require travel up to 25% of time

SALARY RANGE:

• $135K – $155K per year
