CNF Technologies Celebrates 20 Years of Cyber Innovation, National Security Impact, and Family Legacy
December 12, 2025
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — December12, 2025 — More than 150 employees, partners, family members, and distinguished guests gathered at the historic The St. Anthony Hotel to celebrate a milestone moment for CNF Technologies: 20 years of innovation, mission support, and excellence in cyberspace operations.
Founded in San Antonio and now valued at approximately $50 million, the minority-owned and operated company has evolved from a small business startup into a nationally recognized cyber and intelligence solutions provider supporting some of the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community’s most critical missions.
Today, CNF operates across five facilities in San Antonio, Texas; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Annapolis Junction, Maryland, serving customers throughout Texas, Colorado, Florida, Virginia, and Maryland.
For two decades, CNF has specialized in solving complex national security challenges through advanced cybersecurity, cyber operations, intelligence support, and mission-focused technical services. The company develops operator-informed and intelligence-driven technologies designed to provide resilience and decisive advantages for its customers in increasingly contested cyber environments.
Long before U.S. Cyber Command formally existed, CNF’s leadership and engineers were already pioneering foundational cyber capabilities for the military and intelligence community. Led by founder and Texas Cyber Foundation Hall of Fame recipient Fred Ramirez, early efforts included helping establish the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT), deploying some of the first Defensive Cyber Operations capabilities, building Security Operations Centers, producing advanced cyber intelligence, and supporting full-spectrum cyber solutions for national defense missions.
Two decades later, and now led by Fred’s son Freddy Ramirez, CNF continues to support mission-critical operations across organizations including U.S. Cyber Command, 16th Air Force(AFCYBER), MARFORCYBER, and the United States Space Force, while also advancing cutting-edge research and development efforts for AFRL, DARPA, and OUSDR&E.

Commemorative plaques recognizing long-term contributions were presented to:

CNF’s Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Founder and Principal Fred Ramirez in recognition of 20years of leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to national security innovation.
“As we celebrate our 20thanniversary, I want to express my deepest gratitude to every one of you,” Fred shared during his remarks. “Together, we’ve built more than a company — we’ve built a legacy.”

Current CEO Freddy Ramirez reflected on the company’s recent growth and future trajectory, emphasizing CNF’s continued expansion and investment in emerging technologies.
“This 20-year milestone is not a finish line; it’s a launchpad,” Freddy said. “CNF is figuratively and literally building upon our past as we open new facilities in Maryland, Colorado, and San Antonio that will help shape the future of cybersecurity, critical infrastructure defense, and national security innovation.”
As CNF transitions from graduating the SBA 8(a) program to competing among larger industry players, leadership emphasized that the company’s core values — passion, integrity, excellence, and innovation — remain unchanged.
While the technologies, missions, and threats continue to evolve, one thing remains constant: CNF’s commitment to protecting the nation in cyberspace and beyond. After 20 years, the company remains exactly where it has always aimed to be — on watch, on mission, and building the future of cyber defense.
