A local cybersecurity firm is growing its government contract work.
San Antonio-based CNF Technologies has secured a $22.5 million prime contract to develop cyber tools for the United States Marine Corps.
CNF Technologies said its first-year award is $8.22 million and can grow to $22.5 million over the next 30 months. As the prime contractor, CNF Technologies is leading the project.
The company is expanding operations in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, near Fort Meade and the National Security Agency, by hiring more than 20 additional cyber specialists for the site, which includes labs and workspaces for classified and unclassified projects.
Through this contract, CNF Technologies will provide tool developers to support the Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command. The work focuses on creating implants, payloads and exploits — specialized cyber weapons tools used in offensive and defensive cyber operations, the company said.
It was awarded under the government's SeaPort Next Generation program. This program is a $5 billion, multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract with a five-year base period.
Freddy Ramirez, CEO of CNF Technologies, said the company is bringing cross-service experience from its other U.S. contracts to support the new program. Ramirez is a 2025 San Antonio Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree. Roxanne Ramirez, former CEO and Ramirez's mother, is also an SABJ honoree. She received the journal’s Women’s Leadership Award in 2023.

“We will provide the same uncompromising excellence with passion and integrity that defines our legacy, as we continue to distinguish ourselves as a national cyber powerhouse," he said.
CNF Technologies was founded in San Antonio in 2005. The privately held company has grown to about 150 employees and specializes in cybersecurity and cyber operations for national security customers.
It has offices in San Antonio, Colorado Springs, Tampa and Annapolis Junction.
